• 17 hours dual instrument Including
  3 hours cross-country and 5 hours instrument
• 12 hours solo (with at least 5 hours cross-country experience including a flight of 150 nm.
  with 2 stops at points other than the point of departure.
• 5 dual hours may be completed in an approved Flight Training Device or Simulator.

The minimum requirement is for 40 hours of approved instruction.

To attempt the written examination the applicant must hold a licence Validation Certificate (Canadian Medical) and possess a letter certifying competence to attempt the test, completion of 10 hours flight training and completion of a ground school course.

To attempt the flight test the applicant must have completed at least 35 hours of flight training and have a recommendation letter from a qualified Flight Instructor.
